After a short visit to a career in the field of Alzheimer therapy, I chose Cardiovascular perfusion. I graduated from Drexel University in 2001 with the "Perfusion Excellence" award for my class and moved on to staff perfusion at Inova Fairfax Hospital. After a great learning experience at Inova, I moved on to Fresenius Medical Care - ECA to be a Chief perfusionist and start up a new Cardiac Surgery program at Bayhealth Kent General. Our company is now SpecialtyCare and I have had the opportunity to move into the position of Market Manager for MD, DE and DC. I am still clinically active 75% of the time and keep my certification as well as managing other teams and coordinating contracts, financials and new business opportunites for our area. I love having the opportunity to mix clinical patient care with administrative corporate responsibilities.
