Responsible for supervising diagnostic teams assessing a wide range of both children and adults with varying speech and language disorders.

Worked as a bilingual speech-language pathologist (Spanish/English) mostly focusing on the evaluation and treatment of monolingual and bilingual children as well as training families on how to implement communication strategies and activities using their home language. Other job opportunities included serving as a bilingual consultant and mentor for colleagues mostly in outpatient rehab as well as for other professionals in the community by presenting on issues surrounding dual language acquisition/bilingualism. In addition to providing speech-language therapy services in an outpatient setting, I also participated in a multidisciplinary team providing care and support for families with children who presented with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other developmental delays. This included collaborating with team members on implementing best practices for assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse learners.

Worked as a bilingual (Spanish/English) speech-language pathologist at the Katherine Hamm Center providing speech/language assessments and intervention, conducting auditory verbal therapy sessions in Spanish and English, and worked closely with Spanish and English speaking families/caregivers in helping them implement speech/language strategies in the home. Other opportunities included serving as a bilingual consultant to other programs within the Atlanta Speech School (such as the Wardlaw Program, Keenan Program, and the Speech Clinic). In addition to my clinical role at the Hamm Center, I was also a member of Georgia Pathway to Language and Literacy. Georgia Pathways is a Community of Practice (CoP) of professionals, advocates, and parents who serve deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) students throughout the State of Georgia. The mission of the CoP is to advance the literacy proficiency of Georgia’s children who are D/HH and achieve grade-level reading proficiency by the end of third grade for all Georgia students with hearing loss, regardless of their communication modality.

Marcus Autism Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of children with autism and related disorders, treating approximately 5,000 children a year. Marcus Autism Center offers services with the generous philanthropic support of community leaders and funding from local and state governments. The Marcus Autism Center staff of highly trained pediatric professionals is supported by research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
