Delivery of stressed anchors, soil nails and rock bolts works at Woolloongabba Station Precinct as part of the Cross River Rail Project

The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing (TSRC) Project is the largest Commonwealth Government commitment to a single road project in Queensland’s history. The key features of Nexus Infrastructure’s TSRC design solution include: -Four lanes from Warrego Highway East Interchange to Warrego Highway West -Grade separated interchanges at Warrego Highway West, Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road and Gore Highway -A grade separated connection to Mort Street -An approximately 30-metre cutting at the top of the Range will be constructed as an alternative to the tunnel solution as detailed in the reference design to allow all heavy vehicles, including dangerous goods and over-dimensional vehicles to use the TSRC -An 800m viaduct built over the existing Queensland Rail line -Continuity of the New England Highway through a new bridge over the cutting. As the site engineer for the eastern section, I am responsible for the effective management and delivery of the earthworks component of the Eastern Section (Warrego Highway East).

Pumicestone Road Interchange Upgrade (Caboolture, QLD) This Construct only Contract involves the upgrade of the increasingly congested and hazardous Pumicestone Road Interchange on the Bruce Highway.The project includes the construction of a new, higher 6.5m two-lane overpass, lengthening and straightening the on-and-off-ramps, the improvement of intersections with local roads, and new pedestrian and cycling facilities. Role: -Proactively support the team with the right resources in a timely manner. -Support the senior management team and provide a strong liaison role for the client and subcontractors. Responsibilities include: -Supervision of works and ensuring works are carried out safely and as per the Main Roads Technical Standards (MRTS). -Daily Cost Control and Quantity tracking. -Program Development & Management. -Quality and Lots Management and assisting the senior personnel with progress claims. -Procurement and Management of subcontractors. -Plan 100% safety on site by ensuring all the personnel are performing works as per the Work Method Statements (WMS). -Risk Management/Control.

This TNRP Contract involved road restoration works on the Leichhardt Highway spread out over 250km between Westwood and Taroom (Fitzroy Region, QLD). Main features of the project include In-situ stabilisation, Plant-mixed pavement, Asphalt works, drainage and scour repair works and road sealing. Role: -Support the senior management team and provide a strong liaison role for the client and subcontractors. Responsibilities include: -Ensuring all works are carried out as per the TMR contract specifications and technical standards. -Daily Cost & Quantity tracking. -Management of Quality Assurance (QA) documentation. -Construction program development and management. -Procurement and management of subcontractors. -Ensuring & Maintaining high standards of safety on site at all times through regular site inspections.

I am responsible in preparation of pre-qualification documents such as EOI's and Request for Proposals. I engage in the activities to be part of tenders and projects involving designing and construction of railway tracks, road and tunnels. I also engage in the marketing aspect of the business and tend to present capability statements of the company. Tender documents are prepared closely looking at our client's reports & drawings and Geotechnical reports. Understanding the scope and specifics of various projects is a key component for me to be involved in preparation of successful tender documents.

The IAP is a Work-Integrated Learning program designed by Griffith University whereby students are engaged in a project encompassing a real-world scenario. My IAP Project looked into developing a framework whereby 10 key issues relevant in the pre-qualification were explained together with their relevance in the early stages as the EOI. The project was also governed by adopting relevant assessment measures and systems in place in Australia to ensure a safe and sustainable construction industry. Complementing the 10 criteria, were the features/characteristics, relevance and effects to/on the construction industry.
