I. Khan.

Worked as Chemical Engineer Desalination units (both MSF and RO) operations/ maintenance projects (for Ministry of Information Duba, Transmission Station K.S.A) Main responsibilities included: Plant Operations and Maintenance Annual Turnaround Planning

Worked initially as Assistant Manager Power Plant and later as Manager of NIMIR POWER PLANT, I was responsible for condensing steam turbines & back pressure units up to 15 MW capacity in rotational shift duties, and worked on following units: Demineralization plant. 50 bar HP Boiler Condensing / Back Pressure Steam Turbines HT Synchronizing and LT panels Cooling Tower and pumping system Instrument air compressors Upto 300 KVA Generator Sets

Worked as Asst. Manager Utilities in Dhan Fibres Ltd. Responsible for: Installation of equipment and fabrication/erection of piping at following Utilities Units: Nitrogen plant. Air handling unit / Ducting. Chillers / Compressors / Dryers. Boilers 17 bar & 30 bar pressures. Poly Condensation main cooling towers, with Luwa cooling towers & Power House cooling towers.

PRL (7000MTD) at fuel processing and utilities in TSD, key responsibilities included i. Performance evaluation of different process equipment like shell and tube type heat exchanger, multistage compressor, horizontal and vertical type furnaces by performing test runs on methods by Foster and wheeler along with UOP. These monthly reports then brought on graphs for comparison and finally in annual performance reports and decision making before next planned annual turnaround. ii. Crude unit, hydro-treater, platformer unit & utilities. Products ranging from LPG, gasoline, kerosene, naphtha, MTT, fuel oil(LDO & HSD) & furnace oil. iii. LPG recovery plant (Platformer stabilizer) system operation and design study. iv. Process simulation of crude unit on HYSIM and comparison on actual data from refinery for optimization. v. Overall heat transfer coefficient & efficiency (both cold & hot fluid) calculation for trim coolers, on monthly basis & finding trends by computer graphical techniques from one turnaround to another. H.E backwashing removing slime & improving OHTC on high pressure drop basis. vi Detail design technical proposal, evaluation process vetting of quotation based on formulation specification sheets. vii Assessment of actual fluid temp. through heat exchanger & furnaces without rotameters, using regressional analysis technique.

Worked as Apprentice Engineer in process engineering (PEGM), Urea section of Fauji Fertilizer Co. Ltd. Sadiqabad, Pakistan. Collected daily data from FFC-1 plant site conducted evaluation on excel sheets and drawn various graphs. I was involved in monitoring and performance evaluation of various plant sections (both stationery and rotary) from Test Runs data on monthly basis and wrote technical reports with results, recommendations, conclusions and final way forward, as per Process Engg. Department requirement. Left before completion of 02 years training for PRL Karachi as working for a Refinery was my obsession being top of pyramid of heavy industry.
