The role is accountable for data and analytics business outcomes for Hong Kong home market, and across Asia & Middle East markets. This include: (1) data product ownership; (2) delivery of data platform strategy; (3) implementation of data standards, controls, and data risk management; (4) data governance and compliance with data regulations; (5) data analytics and AI to enable data insights and operational efficiency; (6) collaborate with technology and businesses to standardise and simplify data product, tooling and build priority business cases & funding; and (7) delivery of data training.

The global role has accountabilities for delivering the group’s Technology roadmap to unlock the Group’s Data Strategy and Digital ambitions. The role support all the group businesses, functions and entities globally and manage the full data platform & tooling from data sourcing, storage, transformation, visualisation and AI/ML. The team of circa 3.5k+ data engineers are located around the world in ten technology centres to service the bank’s international customer footprint in 62 markets.

Double hat as the Asia Pacific CIO during this period on top of my existing Global Data CIO role. Three focus areas: Uplift the resilience of the technology platform estate within the 19 Asia markets; effectively manage the regulatory landscape; and support the market CIO direct reports in embedding global technology strategy.

Accountable for 20 markets across Asia Pacific for data & analytics strategy, architecture domain, commercialisation of data, regulatory development, and cross Lines of Business transformational data projects. The six focus markets include Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and India. The network markets include Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Korea, etc.

Accountable for setting the group-wide Data & Analytics strategy, Data Management policies and leading the transformation delivery and regulatory resolutions.

Accountable for Group Data & Analytics Strategy; guide cross-BU data initiatives (e.g., data ecosystem partnerships); accelerate high impact analytic transformations including change management, provide data guardrails and identify better emerging and next gen analytic practices. The Chief Analytics Office enable each of our businesses to deliver better customer outcomes through market lead data and analytics capabilities.

Accountable for enterprise risk management of the General and Life insurance portfolios

Accountable for 1) balance sheet risk management for Wealth Management and corporate defined benefits superannuation scheme; 2) risk analytics, financial crime management (AML, FATCA, Sanctions, Group’s Substantial Shareholding; and led the Office of Trustee to support superannuation trustee boards.

Accountable for the CBA Group's economic capital and profit after capital charge (PACC) framework, strategy and risk-based pricing.

Accountable for pricing of structured bonds in Group Funding
