Researched genes and pathways that play a role in the development of age-related macular degeneration at the Research in Science & Engineering (RISE) Internship program at Boston University. I used advanced data analytics (R programming and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis) to highlight two genes, PCYT1B and RASGRF1, as significant.

As a sophomore, I was selected for Deaconess Hospital's Health Science Institute (HSI), an intensive residential immersion program that focuses on the exploration of medical careers through shadowing, tours of hospitals and medical facilities, and even attending live surgeries. I was exposed to the technologies used to address healthcare challenges and improve patient outcomes. HSI highlighted many opportunities to positively impact peoples' lives through Computer Science and Engineering.
