Most of my work sits in the space between how things are supposed to work and how they actually do.I have spent much of my career in emergency management, the fire service, and public administration, often working where legislation, doctrine, operations, and governance intersect. At the core of that work is a fundamental interest in building and maintaining strong teams, supported by clear frameworks that perform in the real world. I value collaboration deeply and believe the best outcomes come from shared understanding, shared responsibility, and clear swim lanes.That focus has shaped the work I have been involved in, including co authoring a fire station arrangement and deployment analysis and contributing to longer range fire service planning through a departmental master plan. My role in that work was collaborative by design. I worked closely with the Fire Chief and senior officers to facilitate input, clarify intent, respect professional judgment, and translate collective insight into clear, decision ready documents that help teams accomplish shared goals.Professionally, I serve the City of Fredericton as an emergency manager, supporting Fredericton EMO and the Fire Department as an in house professional services resource and information officer. My role sits close to operations and focuses on planning, coordination, communications, and supporting leadership and teams with clarity and follow through. I work alongside operational staff and municipal partners to strengthen preparedness, support response, and contribute to long term organizational health.I am a Fire Engineer with the Institution of Fire Engineers and bring that technical foundation into practical planning and risk based decision making. I have also had opportunities to contribute to professional development conversations nationally, including presenting to the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and Department of National Defence fire chiefs and fitness professionals, which I value for the dialogue they create.Outside of work, I am grounded by family and community. My wife is a vice principal, and together we care deeply about education, service, and creating space for others to grow. I adore my family and am unapologetically proud of them. I also enjoy photography and cooking.I am not interested in buzzwords or performative leadership. I care about people, collaboration, and building systems that allow teams to succeed without relying on personality or luck.
