As Partner at Symmetrio, I guide strategy and build teams ranging from large, multi-national companies to startups across diverse industries. Previously, I worked as the Chief Information Officer and Corporate Vice President of Cargill, the largest privately held corporation in the United States. I joined Cargill in 2012 and held various positions leading technology. I was appointed Corporate Vice President and CIO, leading the Global IT function, encompassing all aspects of information technology, risk and security, common processes, data, and digital technology across Cargill's enterprises and functions. During my tenure, I also launched Cargill's digital labs and served as an executive leader on its digital innovation accelerator board EDGE. Before Cargill, I spent several years at Eaton—first as VP of IT for the Fluid Power Group, and then as SVP / CIO of Eaton's Industrial Sector in 2009. Prior to that, I worked for W. L. Gore and Associates, Inc., makers of Gore-Tex, for a decade in various roles, including CIO and in business development for Gore Bike Wear and Electrical Products. My career journey also included serving as Director of IT at F. Schumacher and nine years at General Electric's Military and Data Systems Division, developing national security systems and solutions. In addition to corporate roles, I have served as an independent director on the Board of Atkore International (ATKR: NYSE) since 2017, where I am also a member of the Audit Committee and Chairperson of the Human Resources & Compensation Committee. From September 2022 to October 2023, I was a Senior Business Advisor for Aquabyte, a leading SaaS digital business in the Aquaculture Industry. Since 2017, I have also served on the Information and Data Science Strategic Advisory Board at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. I am the founding Chairperson and current member of the North American Meat Institute Cybersecurity Committee. In 2017, it was an honor to be inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in recognition of achievements in technology and transformational leadership. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Economics from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
