Research topic 1: Investigated the correlation between fractures and non-fractures in Osteoarthritis by employing decision tree classifiers and Pycaret. Research topic 2: Executed image analysis data on cancerous growths within Condylar scans.

Under Dr. He Wang MD PhD, Associate Professor of Pathology, Yale University, and Dr. Yibo Xi PhD, Associate Research Scientist, Yale University. Research Topic: Investigated the impact of E-cigarette on mice lung tissue and cell culture. Contribution: Handled mice in exposure devices set up, transported mice between labs and the animal control room, assisted and participated in euthanizing mice, and dissected mice tumors from recently deceased mice to study the effects of a tumor-suppressor gene upon tumor size. Prepared cell cultures for Hepatocellular Carcinomas, replenished nutritional medium, and grew cell culture until they reached 90% confluence when RNA isolation was performed. Afterwards, prepared reverse and forward primers and performed qPCR on mice RNA from Cell cultures. Observed Cryosection of Mice/Human Abdominal Arterial Aneurysms and performed Cryosection on Mice Suprarenal Abdominal Aortic Ananeurysm test samples. Labeled micro-centrifuge tubes for post-cryosection MMA protein assay.

Research Topic: Identified differentially expressed genes within the liver hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) RNAseq dataset from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA); performed biological pathway analysis on results from genomic analysis. Publication: Fan, Justin & Wang, He. (2023). Identification of Prognostic Related Gene Expression Profile in Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Contribution: Performed literature search to evaluate and identify histological features, such as tumor budding, tumor cell nest formation, and spreading of tumor through air space, in lung adenocarcinoma. Identified differential expression genes in liver hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) RNAseq dataset from TCGA using COX proportional hazard model and general linear models with Bonferroni correction. Examined biological pathway of differential expressed genes in HCC using Gene Set Enrichment Analysis and ensemble KEGG pathway analysis.
