About
I joined the GEMTEC Fredericton team in 2024, bringing a diverse portfolio of previous experience in environmental consulting, government administration, forestry, and research. I spent over six years in the Government of New Brunswick, first with the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (NRED), and then with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Branch of the Department of Environment and Local Government (DELG) in the role of EIA Specialist. Earlier in my career, I spent nearly 5 years at Stantec Consulting Ltd., working primarily on field studies in support of a variety of EIA’s, Environmental Effects Monitoring programs, and Fish Population Assessments. My work in the Department of Environment and Local Government and previous consulting experience have allowed me to gain a firm understanding of provincial environmental regulations, and Federal Impact Assessment (IA), as well as considerable exposure to environmental permitting processes in other jurisdictions within Atlantic Canada. Some of my core skills include project management, data analysis, technical writing, taxonomy (birds, fish, plants, benthic and terrestrial invertebrates), and sampling design. I am the lead author of several peer-reviewed journal articles that demonstrate proven abilities in community ecology, experimental design, and multivariate statistics.
