Lead a bioinformatics team focusing on building stable clinical genomics NGS data processing pipelines and perform bioinformatics data analysis to facilitate the development, improvement as well as the clinical operations of multiple Tempus solid tumor genomic sequencing panels.

Continue to innovate product lines by leading a team in development of single-cell data processing, analysis and software framework initiatives for OmicSoft/QIAGEN ArraySuite and Land products Lead and coordinate OmicSoft/Qiagen's initiative to migrate data storage and content generation from local servers to AWS (Cloud) Supervise a team of bioinformaticians and biology scientists to keep pace with the needs of the clients; activities include development of software modules to support new experimental platforms and related data types (RNAi, CRISPR, RRBS etc.)

Joined OmicSoft, a start-up bioinformatics software company as CTO, also the first bioinformatician/developer, in 2010. Been a driving force to establish the data content and software development team for OmicSoft. As a key member of the leadership team, actively assisted president and the board of OmicSoft in making strategic and major operation decisions. OmicSoft has enjoyed rapid growth and grown into an industry-leading enterprise bioinformatics framework solution and multi-Omic data content provider for both pharmaceutical and biotech users. In Jan 2017, OmicSoft was acquired by QIAGEN Bioinformatics. Achievements: Kept track of latest bioinformatics and biomedical technology advancement and related market force; worked closely with president and marketing team to define long term goals of OmicSoft and actively adjusted/improved product lines according to market demands. Oversaw the genomic content generation process; build data content team from scratch; led development and data content teams to establish the full genomic data retrieval, processing, metadata curation, QC, downstream analysis and data publication processes for OmicSoft's superior Land products. Developed/optimized various data analysis pipelines and analysis modules in OmicSoft ArraySuite for RNA-Seq, microarray, epigenetics data, etc. Collaborated with clients from pharmaceutical or biotech companies and provide consulting services on bio-marker identification, drug target verification and data migration projects that totally multi-million dollars. Oversaw IT operations, led the planning, budgeting and building of IT infrastructure from ground up (data storage, access control and backup; computation resources; software) to support company R&D and operation needs.

Developed multiple software modules in JAVA for image classification, data storage and image retrieval systems to support cancer pathology digitization. These efforts are part of NCI's CaBIG and CaGrid program to develop an open-source, open access information network for secure data exchange on cancer research.

Developed data analysis pipelines for proteomics and mass-spec data. Performed biomarker identification for multiple sclerosis and other neuro-degenerated diseases. Optimized data analysis strategies for iTRAQ high-throughput protein quantification platform.

Systematically analyzed polyadenylation (PolyA) process in human and mouse and identified multiple novel cis-elements for PolyA process. Co-Developed the first version of PolyA-DB, one of the most comprehensive poly(A) site databases.
