About

I am a geospatial scientist and environmental scientist with over 13 years of experience in GIS, spatial analysis, and environmental research. My expertise lies in processing and analyzing large-scale geospatial datasets, developing spatial models, and applying remote sensing techniques to study the environment. Currently, I am an Assistant Scientist at the University of Miami, where I lead geospatial research initiatives focused on understanding how urban vegetation and environmental factors impact public health. I have extensive experience working with satellite imagery, NDVI analysis, Google Earth Engine, and spatial data processing. My work involves database management, automation of geospatial workflows, and interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple research institutions. During my Ph.D. research at the University of Miami, I investigated land cover change and fire regime dynamics in Zambia, using machine learning and remote sensing to analyze the impact of human activity on tree cover and fire frequency. My work involved integrating satellite imagery, geospatial modeling, and stakeholder engagement to assess conservation challenges in protected areas and surrounding landscapes. I also conducted field research, interviews, and spatial analyses to bridge the gap between geospatial data and environmental policy. I am passionate about leveraging geospatial technology to address environmental challenges and exploring innovative solutions in remote sensing, GIS, and data science. I am always looking for opportunities to apply my skills to projects that drive meaningful insights in conservation, ecology, climate science, and public health. Let’s connect and collaborate!
