Julie Jones
Behaviour Analyst @ Grandview Kids
About
I am a passionate and dedicated professional in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), with over 23 years of experience supporting children and youth with autism and other developmental disabilities across clinical and educational settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Disability Studies and ABA (2012) and have been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2013. My thesis focused on the Induction of Naming in Multiple Exemplar Instruction. In 2012 I collaborated with a colleague conducting research on increasing competency of ABA Therapists in making data-driven decisions and integrating use of scientific language into clinical practice—an area I remain deeply committed to. We are hoping to eventually publish the research paper. In 2016, I earned my Bachelor of Education and became an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), a qualification that complements my extensive work within educational systems. My academic foundation also includes a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto (2005). My clinical expertise spans a wide range of assessments and the development of individualized behavioural treatment plans. I apply various ABA methodologies, including: Discrete Trial Training (DTT) Natural Environment Training (NET) Reciprocal Imitation Training (RIT) Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) Precision Teaching Direct Instruction Verbal Behaviour Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) Essentials for Living (EFL) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) I work from a trauma-informed lens, utilizing caregiver-mediated models and fostering autonomous decision-making in clients whenever possible. Special interests include: Capacity building for caregivers and Instructor Therapists Verbal Behaviour Analysis Precision Teaching Reducing interfering behaviours I’m passionate about advancing ethical, evidence-based practices and empowering others to use data not for compliance—but for meaningful change in the lives of the clients and families.
