As a Sourcing Specialist, I manage the full Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) cycle for indirect materials across the Asia Pacific region, covering both general and site-specific purchases. I also manage Non-Conformance Material (NCM) Buy for Australia sites (Ichthys & Pluto), where lead time is critical to avoid disruption to site operations. My role involves working with suppliers across EUR and APA regions, maintaining a diverse and reliable supply base beyond local sources. I also support supply base expansion and localization through supplier onboarding, qualification, and contract management. I regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Accounts Payable team to resolve payment and invoice matters, while managing PO issuance and tracking across multiple ERP systems — Oracle OSCAR, Oracle Pascal, ARIBA, SAP, and S4HANA.

I was promoted to lead a team of 8 in executing end-to-end sourcing as well as cost management and reduction activities for multiple mission critical projects towards increasing localization ratio and new supplier expansion. Part of the role involves overseeing cost assessment, technical drawing and requirements verification, actual process monitoring (genchi genbutsu), gaps identification, benchmarking as well as cost reduction. Besides that, I also monitor vendor performance in ensuring cost competitiveness and quality requirements adherence while partnering with vendors in rolling out effective supply chain risk management strategies to ensure no interruption to the production line. Additionally, I championed periodic and annual price review as well as negotiation activities. Lastly, I render coaching and mentoring to the team in enhancing respective competencies.

Here, I drove full cycle resin (interior & exterior), rubber and interior parts development projects concurrently in line with technical and quality requirements along with set schedules. This involved conducting identification of new potential suppliers, NSER (New Supplier Registration) audit, value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) as well as supplier management activities while planning and organizing Genchi Genbutsu with supplier to observe and improve actual processes. Additionally, I forged close collaboration with designers, quality, production, buyer and logistics teams, liaised with Regional Material Engineer on material testing and plant audit as well as prepared monthly project status updates to Top Management. Lastly, I worked closely with TMCA (Toyota Motor Corp, Australia) certified paint trainer in improving the capabilities of 2 local sprayers.

I was seconded to develop an array of rubber and functional parts in accordance with set technical and quality requirements as well as schedules. This included bridging communications between ASSB and the regional office while collaborating with designers in resolving various MA local parts issues including failure testing and analysis along with supplier engagements. Other than performing benchmarking of TH suppliers to improve the processes, packaging and VA ideas of MA local suppliers, I also introduced new check sheet and improved supplier capacity confirmation as well as project visualization. Lastly, I prepared monthly project status updates to Regional Top Management & ASSB Top Management.

I was recruited to lead the IPQC team in conducting line audit, coordinated quality inspection and rework as well as ensured proper control, maintenance and updating of QA documentation. Besides that, I carried out development of quality plan and maintenance of quality standards and system in meeting customer requirements while liaising with customers and suppliers on quality issues as well as working closely with production and engineering teams on mitigation plans. Additionally, I assisted the QC Supervisor in conducting quality root cause analysis while following up on all corrective and preventive actions. Lastly, I performed various laboratory test including melt flow index, moisture content, flammability test and heat deflection temperature test while establishing good safety and housekeeping practices.
