In my current role as Head of Financial Control at Alubaf Arab International Bank with direct reporting line to the Chief Executive Officer, I lead and supervise financial accounting and reporting, financial analysis, data analytics, regulatory reporting, planning, budgeting, cost control and reconciliations. In addition to the above, I have undertaken the responsibility of developing financial projections and forecasts for the Bank, maintaining accounting policies and procedures, and providing strategic support to the management team. I was part of a select team that was responsible for outlining a new strategic direction for the bank. This new direction was crucial towards raising the Bank’s profile in key markets and enhancing its competitiveness.

At Ernst & Young Bahrain, served as a Director in the Financial Services Audit Group and was involved in advising on significant and technical conventional and Islamic accounting matters (such as consolidation, IFRS 9 early adoption including provisioning, implementation of FAS 30), advising on mergers and acquisitions, reviewing valuation models for private equity and real estate investments, management of client relationships, compliance with regulatory requirements as per the CBB and under Basel III, identification of lapses in internal controls, recommendation of remedies in line with industry best practices, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and AAOIFI standards.
