Oh the glory days before children.....working at Mirvac Hotels flagship hotel, was one of the highlights of my career. Maintaining 90% occupancy on an annual basis, before the internet, was loads of fun and hard work. I led a small sales team, and together we did our share of cold and face to face sales calls, direct marketing campaigns, industry exhibitions, and regular networking activities to get the results. I also worked with Mirvac Hotels PR department to promote the hotel domestically and to the lucrative international markets. The client interaction and overall experience I gained during my hotel days, has enabled me to create and manage my client base with ease today, and have the confidence to communicate with students in a class room environment.

One of the joys of acquiring years of bookkeeping experience, is to share it. As a qualified trainer, with a Cert IV in Training & Assessment, I am now delivering MYOB training along with basic bookkeeping processes to ""start up" business owners, adult students, and those wanting to up skill in the workplace. The course covers the basics of MYOB plus the theory behind two Units of Competency being BSBFIA301 Maintain Financial Records and BSBFIA301 Processing Payroll. The College provides learning materials for the latest, in the cloud version, of MYOB Account Right Plus. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping students achieve their goals.

My main business is keeping small local business's up to date with their monthly bookkeeping and ATO compliance's. Plus keeping business owners informed on ever changing legislation relating to their business. I also providing staff training in current bookkeeping processes using "in the cloud" accounting software. Much of my time at the moment, is spent consulting to clients on Single Touch Payroll, Super Guarantee and reporting to the ATO. So, I too, have to keep up to date latest developments in the industry. And with new functions rolling out from the likes of MYOB, Xero and Reckon One, it really is an exciting and busy time for bookkeepers.
