I joined OneVue as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to expand the team due to company growth. My responsibilities include the ongoing support of all OneVue infrastructure including design and delivery of critical IT projects. The environment is a hybrid cloud with production spanning AWS and VMware/Hyper-V on premises. Due to the company size and team dynamics the role included a holistic level of involvement ranging from endpoint support to advanced cybersecurity strategies. I was promoted after 7 months to the Head of Infrastructure due to organic turn over. I maintained my technical responsibilities but in addition managed a team of 7 engineers responsible for all Infrastructure project delivery, vendor management, budgeting, 3rd party due diligence, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, Help-desk, Change Management, production releases, and strategic initiatives reporting directly to the CTO.

I joined NaviNet as a Senior Systems Engineer to fill a Virtualization gap in the IT Operations team. I spent my time in this role overhauling the vSphere 4.1 environment for consistency and stability. This included scripting ESXi host build and configuration to suit various environment and data-center deployments. Upgrading the entire 180 Host/3000 VM environment to ESXi 5.1 with zero development or production impact. I've since moved into the Systems and Security team focusing on strategic and tactical technical systems engineering. NaviNet's SSE team works very closely with the Software Engineering teams and IT Operation to ensure that sound solutions are implemented that empower the companies long term goals. This role puts to good use my 15+ years as an infrastructure Engineer. The days pass quickly and the work is interesting, challenging and rewarding.

I joined Compuware Gomez as a Systems Architect to help bridge the gaps between Operations, Systems and Software Engineering. The role was a healthy combination of business soft skills, tactical systems engineering and strategic technical road-maps design.

I joined the Motricity team Pre-IPO and took over the Principal lead for Virtualization. I inherited an existing 5000 virtual Machine and 200 ESX Host environment distributed globally in 5 datacenters. This environment was several revisions of ESX and vCenter behind with poorly designed shared storage. The first order of business was to upgrade and streamline the environment while adhering to strict customer SLAs. As part of the architecture team I also was instrumental in shaping the direction of all IT projects from concept to final implementation. I also acted as the lead for a staff of 3 other virtual systems engineers responsible for team project tracking, peer mentoring, and new member training.

This role was pre and post Sales technical consulting for Virtualization and Storage. I kick started the virtualization service within EchoStore bringing to the table past certifications and experience to build a solid foundation for the sales team in this arena. Building onto that foundation with my NCDA and past storage experience I was the go to guy for the sales force. To our customers I was the same friendly supporting face from initial sales meeting to final hand off of implemented solutions including all points in between. This position bound together my past experiences as Internal IT and the sales and service industry. Having lived on both sides of the fence it has made me a better customer and also afforded me some opportunities to work with some truly unique environments.

Hired into Echostor as a initial technical subject matter expert in virtualization. I helped build confidence in Echostor as a trusted partner with VMware technologies. I was promoted quickly into a the role of Senior Technology Consultant where I continued to support the Echostor sales team and deliver end to end solutions to it's customers.

As principal VMware Architect at GMO I took full responsibility for their virtual computing. With a goal to virtualize 95% of all systems I worked extensively in designing a series of virtual tiers to accommodate the varying business service level requirements. Further considerations in my designs were system, site and global high availability and disaster recovery. I also often extended past this responsibility utilizing my knowledge of IT infrastructure providing assistance to the infrastructure team and management.
