Joël Kocher

I am a mechanical engineer who enjoys bringing engineering out of the lab and into the real world. I recently spent six months working as a deployment engineer at an early-stage robotics startup, where I helped bridge the gap between development and real-world use by integrating, testing, and deploying systems directly with customers.My experience spans hands-on engineering in diverse and challenging environments. I designed battery systems for an electric Formula Student race car with the EPFL Racing Team and contributed to product development at LEMO Group.I also worked on an engineering project in Malawi, where I operated in a resource-constrained environment and had to rely on adaptability, creativity, and practical problem solving to deliver results. This experience reinforced my motivation to build solutions that work reliably outside of ideal conditions.Fluent in English and French, with working proficiency in German, I combine technical skills with strong communication and collaboration abilities. I enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and people, especially in environments where technology must perform reliably in the field.Driven by curiosity and a strong sense of ownership, I am motivated by projects that turn engineering ideas into real systems that create tangible impact.
