I manage the Platform Management Infrastructure (PMI) within VM Platform organization. PMI focuses mostly on management of the VMs (VMX) and the Guest (OS running within the VM) and all sorts of communication between the two. Some of our core components include 'VM Tools' (agent inside the Guest OS), 'GuestSDK' (APIs for applications inside the guest to learn about the containing hypervisor), 'Guest Authentication', 'VMware Update Manager' (for updating ESX, Hardware version, Tools, etc), 'VIX APIs' and 'vSphere Guest Operations APIs', 'Rabbit MQ Tunnel to Guest', 'Host Guest File System', etc. Some of of our components run in both Hosted (Workstation & Fusion) and ESX configurations.

* Developer in the Platforms & Guest Interfaces team within Hypervisor Infrastructure group. We are responsible for a variety of software stacks and solutions around interfacing with and managing the guest operating system within a virtual machine. * Projects: * Extended vSphere Guest Operations SDK (file and process management) for FreeBSD and Mac OSX. * Developed a Windows Guest Registry Manager via vSphere Guest Operations. * Developed a new transport layer for a communication channel between the hypervisor and the guest. * Designed and developed VMODL APIs as primitives to a Multi-VM snapshot workflow. * Led the architecture and design for our 2nd generation of Guest RPC channel communications. * Skills: * C/C++ for all the backend dev * Java - mild application to add the VMODL API definitions * Python - unit test framework

Messenger Server Systems Developer. Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining real time communication server applications. Projects: Owner of the maintenance and enhancement of the array of state-full connection servers that serve as the gateway to the messenger server back end (C/C++) Server Side Preferences: Complete end to end design and development of a system to allow for saving messenger client preferences on the server side. Front end was in PhP and Apache, Backend was in C/C++, with some glue work in ZEnd PHP Extensions. Multi-Colo projects that spanned across multiple data centers across the globe - devised algorithms to resolve connection racings. (C/C++) Reliable message delivery: Ensuring a acknowledge based system to ensure automatic redelivery of messages on failure (C/C++)

Primary research areas include profiling of wireless users' mobility using machine learning techniques based on social influences on wireless networks and its applications to routing and location management strategies. Please see the list of Publications below for more details.
