Co-founder and co-organizer of SquiggleConf, a yearly conference for excellent web dev tooling. Our goal with SquiggleConf is to create an enriching conference environment to talk about the latest and greatest in web developer tooling. We aim to include everyone from newcomers to the space and web platform team members to authors & maintainers of open source tools.

I work on shared static analysis projects in the TypeScript ecosystem: most notably typescript-eslint, a powerful static analysis for JavaScript and TypeScript that allows ESLint and Prettier to run on TypeScript code. I'm also on the committer teams of ESLint and Mocha.

We create and maintain tools used by frontend developers across the company, which involves everything from design systems to testing utilities to TypeScript conversions. I also shitpost on Twitter and in the company Slack a bunch.

I'm on our Web Platform team. I previously toured our Learner Experience team, which focuses on improving the core user experience of our content authoring and consumption platforms, and our Growth team, responsible for improving user happiness & revenue growth via iterative experimentation.

I'm a general client architect for a V2 rewrite of Sway's web client specializing in TypeScript applications at scale. We're using the latest cutting edge open source tech such as React, Webpack, TypeScript, and MobX to reimagine how users create and consume dynamic documents.

Office Sway Software Development Engineer. I work in the front end of the Sway app and in the server-side components used by it, making sure performance and usability are smooth and delightful.

As an SDE in CRM's Analytics group, I focus on integrating Azure's machine learning capabilities with the client-facing side of CRM. Projects are in C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and focus on surfacing ML recommendations to users of the mobile and desktop web apps.

Software Development Engineers dive deep into code and work as part of a team of programming experts who solve problems and build powerful new tools. I collaborate with Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) to ensure stellar product quality, and I provide technical guidance to Program Managers (PMs) as they communicate user needs and product requirements. As an SDE, I am dedicated to producing the world’s most advanced software.

Schalk Lab is the name of a group of researchers based in the Wadsworth Center. I started web work in the summer of 2012 by creating the public website and private wiki. The following winter I developed a PHP/JS/MySQL app to manage user accounts & mail for the lab, and the next summer I migrated the app to an internal lab server (NAS). The most well-known public contribution of Schalk Lab is BCI2000, a general-purpose system for brain-computer interface (BCI) research. The lab members also research and publish on bleeding edge findings in neurotechnologies, both in clinical and research settings.

As a high school sponsored intern, I populated and themed the internal documentation ScrewTurn wiki for the credit union's IT and Help Desk department.

At RPI, I made myself active in the student body by participating in fraternity & general social events, such as Exploring Engineering Day and the Career Fair. I am a graduate brother of the Tau Nu chapter of Phi Gamma Delta ("Fiji"), the former president of its Upsilon Pi Epsilon (CS and IT disciplines honor society) chapter, and former community service head for its Computer Science Club.
