Josh Remeis

I find myself constantly seeking new challenges in order to grow myself in an environment that puts me out of my comfort zone. That is what brought me to the University of North Carolina, and I have further pushed that boundary to include Australia, Singapore, and Copenhagen as part of the GLOBE program. I believe that I am adaptable and skilled in problem-solving across many disciplines, and I am definitely eager to learn. One of the most fruitful experiences I have had was as a business development intern at Yard Solutions. I wouldn't say I saw the results I was expecting at first, but it forced me to develop a key competency: communication. I really grew out of my shell in this position and I felt much more confident reaching out to important people including clients and coworkers. In 5 years, I see myself running a start-up that involves some of my passions. This is what gets me out of bed in the morning, and I am determined to keep working and learning until I have a strong enough foundation to start my own company. I believe that the rest of my college career and the first few years after graduation will be the perfect opportunity for me to enhance all of my skills, and I believe that I will be an asset due to this internal commitment to being better. I truly care about improving and innovating this world, and I hope to bring this mindset with me to all of my endeavors.
