Serves as an Instructor/Writer at the US Army Prime Power School (USAPPS); provides performance oriented technical training focused on medium voltage underground and overhead distribution equipment and electrical safety with an annual throughput of up to 36 students.

Supervises the installation, operation and maintenance of utility grade power systems; trains personnel to isolate and repair complex malfunctions utilizing diagnostic tests and troubleshooting techniques; determines the repair requirements, cost effectiveness and method of accomplishment for power plant equipment and associated systems; supervises assessments of electrical distribution systems and facilities; performs QA/QC operations; designs power distribution systems; deploys in support of Contingency Operations and the National Response Framework.

Primary NCO responsible for two Prime Power Sections, performs duties the same as a First Sergeant when deployed; responsible for the morale, welfare and professional development of the platoon; plans and resources all training; assists in construction planning, scheduling, material estimating, preparation of operation orders, standing operating procedures; coordinates and supervises the deployment, installation, operation, maintenance of electrical power plants, distribution and fuel delivery systems in support of contingency operations and the National Response Framework.

Battalion Operations Sergeant in support of five geographically dispersed companies with twelve active duty and four reserve component line platoons with four CONUS and one OCONUS locations; responsible for training, developing and mentoring of subordinates; ensures prompt and accurate reports are provided to the command group in daily operations, unit training, ammunition, security operations, CBRN, and reserve affairs; assists the Operations Officer with formulating strategic standing operating procedures for the Battalion, deploying personnel in support of the Warfighter and the National Response Framework.

Serves as a Prime Power Supervisor responsible for the health, welfare, training, and the professional development of 10 NCOs; plans, supervises, and performs QA/QC of sustainment level maintenance; provides technical expertise to twelve Prime Power detachments and associated users of Battalion assets; responsible for the overhaul of 420kW to 4500kW prime power generating systems and associated equipment; deploys in support of the Overseas Contingency Operations and the National Response Framework; accountable for tools and equipment valued at $2,000,000.
