Established in 1950 to serve San Diegans experiencing homelessness and poverty, Father Joe’s Villages has grown to be San Diego’s largest homelessness services provider with a comprehensive campus and scattered-site programs that house over 2,000 people nightly.

San Diego County is also part of the San Diego–Tijuana transborder metropolitan area, the largest metropolitan area shared between the United States and Mexico.

The Alzheimer’s Association works on a global, national and local level to provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

To protect our most vulnerable citizens and help safeguard the state's Medi-Cal program, the Attorney General's Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse works aggressively to investigate and prosecute those who would rob taxpayers of millions of dollars each year and divert scarce health care resources from the needy. The Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse also works aggressively to protect patients in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities from abuse or neglect.

WEAVE provides an array of services to women, men and children in the greater Sacramento region who have experienced domestic violence or have been sexually assaulted. WEAVE also works as part of the Rescue & Restore Coalition to support victims of human trafficking.
