About
I currently wear two hats one as a fulltime firefighter and one as a founder and managing partner of a social enterprise called Home Safety and Security Inspections. I am a lifelong learner whom has developed a strong ability to communicate and collaborate with people in a variety of contexts. I am continually improving myself by taking courses and gaining invaluable practical experience which has given me ample opportunity to use my education. I am a firm believer in learning skills in the classroom and devloping skills through hands on training and repetition. I have had the opportunity to work with great people and learn under great mentors which has helped me develop both personally and professionally. I am an avid athlete and life long philanthropist still competing heavily and coaching regularly. Sports and competition has always been an integral part of my life and I take great pride in giving back to the community as much as possible! Finally I am lucky enough to have a beautiful wife and daughter with another one coming very shortly.

Experience

firefighter
richmond fire rescue
In 2008, I was hired as a full time fire fighter with Richmond Fire Rescue. Under this organisation I have been involved as a full time suppression officer, responding to all emergency events within the City of Richmond. While at Richmond I have had the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time in the fire prevention office as an inspector, an instructor and educator to the community, as well as, internal stakeholders within Richmond. I was appointed on the firefighter recruitment committee where I have been responsible for re-engineering the recruitment process while developing and implementing the requirements for probationary firefighters. Finally, I have also had the opportunity to be an active member of the Richmond Fire technology committee. My work in Richmond has afforded me multiple professional development opportunities for which I am truly grateful!
