Oversaw the operations of the busiest Service Department in the Portsmouth area, managed 5 employees, department inventory, improved relations and grew customer base.

Hired during a spike in surfboard kit sales, I quickly organized a dysfunctional order fulfillment process into a smooth operating system that was clear to everybody in the company. My main functions were receiving and processing incoming orders for surfbord kits, assembling the kits from the various components associated with the order, arranging domestic and International shipping for each kit, communications with kit and merchandise customers, company wide inventory. As sales diminished, I was trained in milling the various components for the boards from rough cut cedar, from the deck planks to the bead and cove rail strips, cutting nose and tail blocking on a band saw.

I began as a seasonal assembler. At the end of the summer I was asked to stay on through the winter as one of two assemblers serving the five store company. The following Spring I was asked to move into the service department as a mechanic. Under the tutelage of industry veteran Brett Flemming, I learned exceptional diagnostics, repair, and customer service.

KINESIS USA was the U.S. branch of International bicycle fabrication company based in China. I started as a finisher, refining assembled frames with a dyna file. Soon thereafter I was trained to set up and operate horizontal mills to miter chain and seat stays, eventually being trained to set up and operate the bottom bracket, seat tube, and head tube milling station. I was also responsible for filling a 500 gallon etching acid bath, neutralizing and disposing of the spent fluid.

Oversaw the operation of the service department, training mechanics and organizing workflow, developing and implementing policy, service writing and repairs, trouble shooting complicated repairs, warranty claim generation, organized and facilitated department meetings.
