Currently serving as personal assistant to Br. Albert Gahr, OSB, associate professor of Biology at Saint Vincent College. This involves facilitating an ongoing research project involving the identification of genetic markers in macroinvertebrates. I also maintain the lab, catalog chemicals and materials, as well as facilitating other miscellaneous tasks.

* General Biology Lab (Fall 2017,18,19 & Spring 2018) * Aid in facilitating general biology laboratory investigations ranging from microscopic analysis, dissection, molecular techniques, and stream assessment. I also prepare supplemental resources for student use. * Microbiology Lecture (Spring 2019) * As Saint Vincent’s Microbiology course employs a flipped classroom model, traditional lecture is replaced with various activities. In this position, I help students with these activities and provide additional background on the topics covered.

As part of the USDA REEU, a two month program facilitated by the Penn State Food Science Department, I evaluated the effectiveness of duck prosciutto preparation processes on the ability to reduce Salmonella populations.

Developed new materials and procedures for Saint Vincent’s General Biology curriculum, developed a method of organization for the lab prep room, and performed microbiology stock contamination testing. Also in the process of conducting a department-wide equipment inventory.

Currently hold two sessions each week to aid students in the material covered during Cell Biology lecture.
