About
Hello! My name is Josephine Chan and I am a junior at Hofstra University studying in the 5.5-year dual-degree Physician Assistant program. Currently, I’m focused on honing my patient care abilities and expanding my knowledge of various healthcare settings. I’m seeking to gain more experience in these areas and expand my clinical knowledge or in general, develop my professional skills through internships and part-time jobs. Recently, I worked as a medical assistant at Flushing Radiation Oncology Services where I assisted in taking vitals and checking in patients for treatment at the clinic. I utilized Electronic Medical Records interfaces such as MDLand where I uploaded patient’s medical documents and inputted cancer patient’s data on NYS SEER. In the process, I’ve analyzed many medical records such as treatment forms, biopsies, and medical histories. This opportunity has helped me develop my ability to communicate and deliver service to patients as well as practice healthcare management. I’m confident this experience and skills will help me excel in my future endeavors and further improve myself. Additionally, I’m passionate about contributing to the community through volunteering for non-profit organizations such as Glamour Gals. Following their mission to decrease senior isolation, I visit senior centers to perform makeovers by painting their nails and socializing with them. Serving my community has helped me compassionately give back to those around me and learn about underrepresented issues. I’m eager to continue to refine my expertise and help those around me. Please feel free to message me about any job opportunities.
