Responsibility to work to deadlines and ensure work is submitted by school journalists to their target dates. Deputise for editor to ensure standards of work and organisation of the project. Created a webpage using HTML and produce news stories efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Started a yearbook for the pupils in Year 11 who were leaving in 2007. In this task, I combined the use of Apple Mac computers and PC’s to create a yearbook based on the format of a comic highlighting all the events and achievements of the year group. Helped to lead a team of 4 in finishing the project to its set publishing date and to a high standard.

Commenced the process to start the production of a new magazine, created by myself and a friend. Idioteque is a brand new monthly publication which aims to produce a light-hearted yet comprehensive view of the world we all live in, whilst offering an assortment of opinions, topics and activities. Based in Leeds, but encompassing the happenings of London, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle with the help of 50 or so nationwide contributors, we aim to cover the usual cultural and social topics yet provide a broader platform for artistic and creative talents.

Covered nearly a hundred gigs and PAs for numerous bands as part of a Street Team, predominantly through Traffic Online and UK Undercurrent. This involved internet promotion of releases and gigs, appearing outside venues handing out flyers and signing people up to the mailing list for a certain artists as well as using knowledge of certain cities to help promote acts in record, clothes and coffee shops. Artists covered include The Horrors, The Fratellis, The Pigeon Detectives, Rufus Wainwright, Bloc Party, Maximo Park and Super Furry Animals.

Became a contributor to Liverpool FC monthly Well Red, working as part of a group of writers whose aim is to create opinion pieces on the football club and football in general, to form an alternative to the existing forms of coverage. A magazine that has expanded its audience from local readership to national coverage alongside its sister magazine, Late Tackle, Well Red is now an established and well received publication that has enabled my work to garner wider reading and popularity.

Joined as a writer for the Music section of the Leeds Metropolitan University student newspaper, in their Arts supplement, Lime, reviewing albums by The Flaming Lips, The XX and Sleigh Bells, as well as gigs such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Delphic and Warpaint. Other journalistic experience includes articles published for Thisisfakediy.com and gigwise.com.

Joined as a Part-Time Sales Assistant in the Audio Department. Part of the team responsible for opening a brand new store, the biggest one for the company in nearly 30 years. Involved fitting out and arranging the presentation of the store, keeping it up to the expected high standards and took part in two successful stock counts. Given responsibility for the whole department in absence of senior members of staff, drawing up rotas and weekly new release plans. Helped to train Temporary Christmas staff and welcome them into our team. Assisted the store surpass nearly all of its targets and become one of the leading branches in the North West. Part of the team successfully introducing a member rewards card.

11 GCSE's including 5 A* and 1 A, Duke of Edinburgh Silver and Bronze Awards, Daresbury Science Award, GCSE equivalent in Mandarin Chinese, ASDAN International Award, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Headteacher's Award for contribution and commitment to school life and studies.
