Assumed engineering responsibility of all key internal systems over all other teams as a key member of the core engineering team, lead directly by the Director of Engineering. Immediately began architecting Golang-based microservices to replace and phase out monolithic PHP services, dramatically reducing occurrences of quality regression, while increasing efficiency, accessibility, and maintainability of mission-critical systems. New services demonstrated a 400% increase in response times and a dramatic increase in response time consistency. Assisted in the transition of all services from a home-grown Kubernetes infrastructure to Amazon’s EKS system, using Helm to define and manage configurations. Worked to upgrade and rewrite core React UI by upgrading to React 16, separating core components into reusable package modules, and ensuring separation of business logic to services and abstraction of service data to Action Creators and redux Reducers, rather than within components.

As a contractor, assumed a Lead Engineer Role within a brand new department with the purpose of in-housing development assets within Pizza Hut under Yum! Brands. Received numerous accolades and praise from top leadership for effectively implementing processes, best practices, and development standards that significantly raised code fidelity, product quality, and planning predictability. Working within Agile processes, implemented internal and customer-facing tools and products written using React.js, Redux, React Router 4, Webpack. Introduced guidelines and best practices for React and Redux application development. Implemented processes included strict a Code Review Process, 100% Minimum Test Coverage Requirements, JSDocs, and Project Documentation requirements. Additionally, organized critical weekly team retrospectives, organized, hosted, and taught biweekly brown-bag sessions. As a key consultant for the Site Reliability Expert team, worked heavily with Kubernetes, GCP, and CircleCI. Additionally, as Lead Engineer pivoted focus from project-based work to reusable internal module development to create Rapid Development frameworks, toolings, and components. Initially worked as the sole engineer to create ordering and account Voice UIs using Dialogflow with Google Assistant / Actions on Google. Utilized Firebase Functions to interface with Dialogflow's ML API (previously API.AI SDK). Successfully interfaced and collaborated with Google's internal engineering teams to ensure successful production deployment, and continued as-needed enhancements and maintenance of the project throughout roles.

Pioneered development of a new A/B Testing Platform based on Node.js, React.js, Webpack 2, and Babel that interfaced with a freshly crafted REST API for improved performance, maintainability, and superior flexibility (capable of hundreds of simultaneous tests). Maintained existing platform using traditional HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, .NET, ASP.NET, and a proprietary legacy Visual Basic system. Worked closely with all areas of the organization to provide solutions that fit the needs of all company departments.

During contract, furthered Nerium’s overall goals of user experience, working with customer tickets, directly collaborating with internal teams (incl. Marketing, UX, CS, Business Management), and working within a SAFe Agile environment. Optimized Angular controllers and directives, introducing a 400% decrease of load and execution time. Developed and maintained specific application areas, owned Angular Directives, and acted as a technical SME for numerous areas of the Nerium application.

Aided in transforming enterprise implementation of SiteCore 8.1 by leading responsive redesign efforts using Twitter Bootstrap. Revised antiquated processes to improve work output by defining front end integration strategies and best practices. Enhanced user experience using AJAX to interact with middle-tier services, reducing main-thread browser requests.

Decreased overall Time-To-Market potential and streamlined workflows by architecting and implementing an isomorphic UI framework using Node.js, Web Components, React.js, Webpack, and other technologies; featuring componentization capabilities for major and minor feature-sets for rapid development and deployment of enterprise-level web applications. Improved workflows and minimized fragmentation of standards and best practices by aiding in the codification of enterprise-level coding and development standards, advising in architecture of UI stacks, and providing input on key business decisions regarding development practices. Maintained positive burndown performance by utilizing Agile Development practices to delegate stories and tasks efficiently and effectively among team members to properly orchestrate development of a large enterprise-level modular and isomorphic rapid development UI framework. Increased visibility into application performance pitfalls by developing a Centralized Performance and Exception Logging framework. Aggregated performance metrics for monitoring and rationalizing transaction execution times to understand key usability offenders, and introduced optimizations to mitigate performance issues with "Top Offenders".

Leverage the latest HTML5, CSS Modules, and ECMAScript 5 implementations to efficiently and elegantly produce sites built with an optimized flow, look and feel, and experience based on scenarios and best practices. This includes the creation of HTML5 templates based on strict internal standards, utilization of CSS Modules to leverage efficiency through hardware acceleration and minimize external asset creation, and manifestation of complex web application component abstracts into robust JavaScript libraries and plugins to streamline user interaction and provide exceptional extendibility and maintainability for developers. Creation and maintenance of these assets using a central repository of reusable components to improve development process through prescriptive flexible components for adaptability while ensuring a quick-and-easy implementation. Integration of droplets and beans into static HTML templates to create beautiful, seamless, and efficient ATG e-Commerce sites on large-scale projects for name-brand clients. Experience includes simple integration of checkout, cart, shop, account management, and managed content sections to creation and integration of complex reusable JSP, Java, and JavaScript components to streamline development processes.
