Jose BOSCO Silveira Jr.
Managing Partner @ BMC HYUNDAI
About
I lead businesses through inflection points — the moments where strategy, culture, and execution either come together or fall apart. My career has been built inside industrial B2B companies, where results depend on execution, culture, and a clear sense of priority. As former CEO of Terphane Group (a Tredegar Corporation subsidiary and global player in the chemical and plastic packaging film industry), I led the company through a deep cultural and operational transformation that culminated in a strategic M&A process — managing every stage from strategy definition and Board approval to SPA signing and antitrust clearance. It was the kind of experience that changes how you see leadership: less about control, more about clarity under pressure. Today, as Managing Partner at BMC Hyundai, one of Brazil's largest distributors of construction equipment, I lead the company after being invited to join as a partner following my years on its Advisory Board. My role is to drive the leadership transition from its founder-CEO, who remains active in the operation, and to position the company for its next stage of growth. It is the kind of challenge that demands both strategic clarity and genuine respect for the culture that built the business. Having led across automotive, packaging, chemicals, and heavy equipment — through turnarounds, growth cycles, and M&A — I have learned to read new industries quickly and find the leverage points that matter. Curiosity and adaptability are how I operate. Transparency and an ownership mindset are what I stand for. I have served on multiple Boards of Directors, and I approach governance the way I approach leadership: with a bias for action, a respect for process, and a genuine interest in developing the people around me. What I bring to the boardroom is what only comes from having sat in the CEO chair during high-stakes decisions — operational depth, strategic clarity, and the judgment to distinguish governance that enables growth from governance that slows it down. I write and think about the things I've learned along the way — leadership that doesn't depend on hierarchy, governance that creates value rather than bureaucracy, and the craft of making decisions when the data is incomplete and the stakes are real.

President | Brazil & U.S.

I was responsible for leading Terphane’s global business, including those in Brazil and the USA, with full P&L accountability. I led a comprehensive restructuring of the business and operations areas, redefining product and market strategies while fostering a more innovative, customer-centric management culture. As a result, we achieved significant EBITDA growth and earned prestigious awards, such as Great Place to Work in Brazil and The Best Companies to Work For in New York, and several industry awards. I spearheaded the digital transformation efforts, driving innovation to ensure the long-term success of the business. After successfully leading the project of divesting Terphane’s operations in the US and Brazil from Tredegar Corporation, the company was sold to Oben Group. After leading the integration phase for four months, and after more than a decade of contributing to the growth and success of the organization, I concluded this chapter and now look forward to embracing new challenges and opportunities.
