Earth Scientist with more than fourteen years of experience in the field of Economic Geology, doing both mineral exploration and research. As an explorer I have worked at a variety of brownfield and greenfield exploration projects for porphyry and IOCG deposits. While working at the explorations department of Codelco, the world's largest copper producer, I participated in the delineation of the newly discovered La Americana and Casualidad deposits, and I was directly involved in the discovery of the Cerro Negro ore body in the Rio Blanco-Los Bronces district of Central Chile. As a researcher, I am interested in the structural controls on magma and hydrothermal fluid flow. In particular, I am interested in understanding the genesis, spatial zonation and structural controls on the emplacement of mineral deposits, mainly giant porphyries and associated epithermal systems. For these studies I apply techniques coming from different geoscientific fields, such as structural geology, geochemistry, geochronology and the interpretation of geophysical datasets.
