About
Research Interests: * The interfacial structure and dynamics of complex fluids. Examples of this include: room temperature ionic liquids and aqueous and organic electrolytes under nanoscale confinement in porous electrode materials, at both neutral and charged interfaces. * Nano-confinement effects on biological macromolecules and alkanes, protein folding and stabilization. * The development of novel sample environments and instrumentation for multi-length scale, time-resolved structural analysis.

rutherford appleton laboratory
I am currently a permanent staff member of the Large Scale Structures Group in the ISIS neutron and muon scattering facility at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Didcot, England. I am currently helping to commission a £7.2 million multipurpose diffraction and spectroscopy instrument that will offer several neutron spin precession techniques at the ISIS facility as part of an international collaboration with Delft University of Technology (Delft, Netherlands). I conduct scientific outreach and user support to both the academic and industrial European and international neutron user communities involved in nanoscience research, while spearheading the development of a research programme which incorporates electrochemical experiments in situ with time-resolved neutron scattering analysis.

postdoctoral research associate
oak ridge national laboratory
Geochemistry and Interfacial Sciences group, Chemical Sciences Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN, group leader: David J. Wesolowski. -My work focused on studying the molecular-scale structure and dynamics at fluid/solid interfaces in electrical energy storage systems, in support of key focus areas of the Fluid Interface Reactions, Structures and Transport (FIRST) Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC), a U.S. Department of Energy Basic Energy Sciences Center. P.I.: David J. Wesolowski. -I used X-ray and neutron scattering techniques, including small angle scattering, reflectometry, diffraction, and neutron spin echo, and communicate across different specialties to integrate theory and simulation in our investigations.
