I've worked in IT since High School where I ran Linux servers for some of my classrooms and helped cleanup blaster from computer labs. I've always had an inner curiosity for how things work and sometimes find myself breaking things intentionally just to try and put them back together or at least to learn how it functioned. I'll script and write code for fun and like reading up on random things like ROP chaining and reverse engineering. I also maintain my own self-hosted infrastructure on a proxmox server at home which I use not only for security, but also for testing and development. My ultimate dream job would probably be in application security, penetration testing, or cloud security engineering, ideally in a team setting to be more like the gang in the Mystery Machine and not like Sherlock Holmes (even though he had Watson). One really neat thing about me is that I am very quick to adapt and learn new skills. This is most likely due to me being overly critical of myself and wanting to make sure I do better each time. At the very least, this affords me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes since I reflect on my choices--good or bad--quite often. I'm a team player and enjoy teaching others when the opportunity presents itself, but I also enjoy learning from others. I feel teaching reinforces the skills that I already know or helps me to refine them when I have to break them down to be easily consumed by others.
