I lead the Chicago IT Assurance group within Grant Thornton's Audit practice. I plan, oversee, and review IT audits for public and private companies across the central United States. I also support the audit team as the IT lead on PCAOB and internal quality inspections, and I serve as an internal quality inspector over Grant Thornton’s audit engagements nationwide.

I serve as the lead IT audit manager in the Chicago office. My client base covers the central United States and comprises a wide range of industries. I have the most industry experience in consumer and industrial products. Most of my clients are U.S.-headquartered companies with overseas operations. I have led IT audits across the U.S., as well as Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In my current role, I perform the following: - Plan, oversee, and review IT audits for integrated audits under PCAOB standards. - Support the audit team as an IT lead on PCAOB and internal audit quality inspections - Conduct internal audit quality inspections at a national level to assess the quality of Grant Thornton’s audit engagements. - Support audit teams in the pursuit of new business. I have championed several additional projects during my time at Grant Thornton. These include the following: - Developed and rolled out training related to IT Audit methodology/materials for all US IT staff. - Authored national audit methodology IT testing templates. - Elected by national audit leadership to serve as the sole IT Auditor on the National Audit Council. - Elected by local office leadership to serve as a member of the Chicago Advisory Council. - Elected by local advisory leadership to serve as a chair of the Senior Associate Advisory Council. I spent the first five years of my career in our advisory practice where I executed and reported on the below. - Internal auditing of SOX 404 IT controls - Firewall & IPS assessments - Software licensing assessments - FFIEC reviews - Service Organization Control (“SOC”) 1 and SOC 2 readiness and attestation engagements - AT 601s attestations over HIPAA compliance - Federally-mandated compliance audits

I spent several months in the United Kingdom performing various IT general control assessments for public and private sector clients.

I worked in a program that facilitates social entrepreneurship among a rural community outside of Mombasa, Kenya. While there, I worked with a business partner to gather a team of local community members to build a socially-driven start-up company. We worked to train and collaborate with our members to generate a sustainable business model with elected positions for each employee within the company. We named our company Katakiu, which means "thirst quenching" in Swahili. Katakiu collects and stores rain water, then sells the purified water to local community members.

I worked under the Client Success Manager as a data analyst and reporter. One of my larger projects was the development of automated reporting systems for company-wide use. I worked extensively with Excel and Google Analytics to generate efficient and effective reports using imported data and KPIs. I also became established as a client-facing member of our team, sharing results with our various clients during conference calls. Additional accomplishments include sole management of a $12,000 annual client referral budget and institution of a new company meeting format.
