Supported The Gambia National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) Headquarters as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) Data Analyst by: • Conducting geospatial analysis using aerial imagery (UAS, satellite) and remote sensing datasets (ESA satellite products, Esri Living Atlas, GEE Catalog) to assess disaster impacts and support decision-making • Training Information and Communication Technology (ICT) officers in GIS techniques, including data collection, remote sensing analysis, and cartographic visualization, to enhance national technical capacity • Designing and producing high-quality maps and GIS products for reports and presentations, improving disaster preparedness and response efforts • Implementing best practices for GIS data acquisition, processing, and quality control, ensuring data integrity and system reliability for disaster monitoring and resource allocation • Operating UAS (DJI Phantom 4) for drone surveys, capturing and analyzing imagery to assess environmental and disaster impacts in affected areas

As an AmeriCorps GIS Assistant with the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, I used my spatial data expertise to support the management and conservation of park resources for the 10,000 acres, 15 park units, and 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River. I created maps, models, surveys, and reports using Esri products, spatial analysis, and data management techniques to inform decision-making and planning. • Data Management: Helped with GIS database management, organization, and clean up for both local and shared drive storage. • Field Data Collection: Used high accuracy GNSS equipment and workflows to collect spatial data for various park projects. Examples include hiking trails, survey markers, cultural resources, and natural resource project needs. • Collaborative Projects: Worked with external park partners as needed to aid in data collection and data sharing. • Resource Creation: Created maps (digital and hardcopy), digital forms for data collection apps (ArcGIS Survey123 and Field Maps), web maps, and web apps as needed to help staff with managing park resources.

• Helped a weekly average of 30 students of mixed technical backgrounds troubleshoot problems with geospatial projects • Provided technical assistance to students, faculty, professors and external partners on projects that utilized geospatial technologies • Managed external long-term project related to hunger, food security, grown food access, health outcomes, school nutrition programs, and farmers markets in Virginia, used GIS and programming to manage data and update map series visualizations for website • Created and managed social media content to promote geospatial events, organizations, and dialogue • Organized monthly speaker series with an average of 40 attendees bringing together students and GIS practitioners to engage a wider audience in the geospatial field, facilitated networking and increased awareness of GIS-related issues • Taught geospatial software to over 215 students and faculty members across different disciplines to ensure successful completion of course work and served as continuous support • Mentored a cohort of 23 CGA research students, interns and REUs contributing to GPS surveying, wildlife restoration, habitat suitability modeling, public health, and asset management-related projects • Conferences and Professional Development: -Attended Esri Federal User conference -Presented at Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems (VAMLIS) GeoCon 2023 with coworker on "Mentored Collaborations Between Universities and Local and State Agencies" -Hosted a roundtable at the Champions for Youth Summit with StoryMap found here: https://arcg.is/05n8HS
