After a career working in marketing and e-commerce, I launched That Works Agency in 2018 at 19 years old. Originally going door-door in my home town of Scunthorpe, selling websites to small and local businesses. After a year of this, covid hit and I began to focus on online advertising to get clients which is where we excelled. In 2020 we hired our first staff and scaled selling websites to companies affected by covid that needed to move online. This gave me some breathing room to think about the future of the company, which is when we pivoted to focus only on Shopify, back to my roots of e-commerce. With some big players already in the market we focused on providing an amazing service to our existing customers and grew to 7 figures ARR and a team of over 25 through refferals with £0 spend on advertising the company for 6 years. As the tide of the e-commerce landscape is changing, ad costs rising and marketplaces being more competitive we've shifted our stance to focusing more around incrementally testing changes to a site to squeeze as much revenue out of your paid traffic as possible giving you a data lead advantage to your competitors.
