Jonathan Arvidsson
Procurement Manager - Supply Chain @ Coop Sverige
About
I’m a logistics professional with a passion for precision, progress, and people. With a background rooted in supply chain and logistics, I’ve grown into a role where I lead purchasing and category work with a sharp eye for cost efficiency and a deep commitment to continuous improvement. What sets me apart is my analytical mindset. I love diving into data, spotting patterns, and turning insights into action. Whether it’s optimizing freight agreements, refining procurement processes, or challenging the status quo, I bring structure to complexity and clarity to decision-making. But numbers alone don’t move supply chains - people do. I take pride in building strong, collaborative relationships across teams and leading with empathy, energy, and direction. I believe the best results come when people feel empowered, informed, and inspired. I’m constantly exploring new perspectives within supply chain management to become the most well-rounded logistics professional I can be. For me, development isn’t a destination, it’s a mindset!

I worked as a operational purchaser of confectionary items and snacks, i.e. a very high volume and fast pace assortment. I was responsible for ensuring stock levels of around 500 articles in order to keep the isles of our approx. 800 stores filled. I was responsible for analysing my stock in order to cut costs connected to for example over-stocking, changes in the assortment and BBDs. I was the first point of contact for my suppliers, both domestic and international and I worked very closely with them, discussing short-, and long term projects involving anything from ensuring stock levels prior a store activity to analysing sales trends on a macro and micro level. I was involved in various projects aiming to increase the overall efficiency in our supply chain. It was a great learning experience working at such a large company as Coop and I aim to expand my knowledge in both my current field but also other fields such as strategic purchasing and business analysis in the future.

My primary responsibilities focused on warehouse, production and transport matters. Warehousing issues included everything connected to reducing costs - for example, keeping the right articles in stock while reducing the number of SKUs with an unsatisfactory margin and/or turnover rate. I was the primary contact into the warehouse with regards to both in-, and outbound matters. Production matters include planning and analysing the order volumes for each month and per year. Transport matters include booking and managing transports via our freight forwarder in order to ensure effective and cost efficient transport solutions from supplier to warehouse. I was also involved in NPD projects where I, together with my manager, were responsible for everything logistics related. It could be ensuring production, preparing the warehouse, article registration and securing transportation. I was responsible for making sure that we met the legal requirements that were set on us as a seller of foods and beverages. I had to make sure that we were IP certified through managing and displaying tracebility of our goods and confirming that every certificate needed is updated and in place, amongst other things. I worked closely with our sister company Func Food Finland and together with my Finnish colleagues we tended to supply chain matters that affected both countries. I also had continuous contact with our other sister company in Norway - Func Food Norway. Since this company was very new, I helped wherever any logistical/supply chain related assistance were needed.

Employed through StudentConsulting to work as a summer intern, filling in for staff going on vacation. I placed orders and managed incoming supplies from different suppliers in order to keep a balanced inventory through the use of SAP, JDA Advanced Warehouse Replenishment and LCD.
