Jonathan TY Liu

Jonathan Liu is an Associate at Leigh & Orange in Hong Kong. Jonathan has led numerous architectural and interior design projects, working closely with senior leaders to manage multiple project teams and packages. Jonathan has 15 years post registration experience and has delivered major projects in the UK, Middle East, and the Greater Bay Area leading the process from concept design through to hand over. Jonathan’s approach is focussed on bringing beauty, functionality, and cultural relevance to each project. Jonathan believes architectural design has the power to bring delight into every day life by creating beautiful environments for people to live, work, and relax in. Jonathan holds a deep interest in the rapid urban development of Eastern and Asian economies and the many challenges regarding liminality, hybridity, and innovation in cultural production that such growth demands from designers. Jonathan has a deep fascination in meeting these challenging questions regarding modernity and the Eastern identity as designers create the urban environments of the future. Jonathan’s projects have been published in Archdaily, Dezeen, RIBA Journal, Architecture Today, Architect’s Journal, and Building Design; and have received such accolades as the Housing Design Award, Placemaking Award, Civic Trust Award, and RIBA Regional Awards.
