I help people with business, trusts and estates, probate, real estate and other matters. My goal is to provide efficient, quality, and timely legal representation. - Business & Corporate law: I primarily focus on contracts, succession planning, transactional work and business start-ups. - Estate Planning, including the simple to the complex: I regularly prepare a variety of lifetime and estate planning related documents. - Trusts and Estates: I represent (1) personal representatives in the administration of a decedent’s probate estate, and (2) trustees in the administration of a decedent’s trust. - Real Estate: I advise on all kinds of commercial and residential real estate matters including leases; and I represent buyers and sellers of all kinds of real estate. - Family Businesses: I help people with the legal formalities of starting and operating a business, succession planning, generational estate planning and real estate matters. I like to write. For over twenty five years I have written a nationally syndicated estate planning question and answer column called “Legal Ease” geared toward seniors. It is also carried by a regional print publication, “West Michigan Plus” and an online magazine dedicated to seniors, www.Go60.us. I have also written an e-book, 𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩, which is available in the Publications section, listed under the Accomplishments title below. Beyond law, I am a runner and sports enthusiast, am married to a dog and animal enthusiast and have two adult children. I also enjoy reading good books and watching good movies.
