Senior Semiconductor Advisor

Appointed as senior advisor by CCID, media and policy section of Ministry of Information Industry (MII) to provide recommendation to formulate strategy for China semiconductor industry. Promoted China policy to semiconductor companies in Taiwan and Silicon Valley. Set up GPRS test trial verifying 2.5G connectivity to China Telecom and China Mobile in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Assisted MII in selecting and awarding servo controller IC to DMD for IC development.

Invested and appointed by ESS Technology to head up Internet Corporation, with an operating subsidiary, China E-Commerce Technology (CECT) company, for joint development of online payment gateway, linking DVD/STB system hardware with PRC top-tier OEM partners, including Shinco, Malata, BBK. Pioneer and first to receive PRC government approval to partner with China Telecom, China Merchant Bank, Everbright Securities, China Communication Stock Brokerage, China Postal Services and Union Pay for seamless integration of China's first online payment for e-commerce applications, including stock trading, banking transactions, merchant payments and shipments, inter-banking transactions (pre-Visa/MasterCard usage in PRC). Co-developed with Japan Access Technology to deliver SSL with Java Script functions for HTML and browser O/S porting to company platform, with successful launch of web-payment systems DVD/STB distributed through banks and security brokerage firms in Guangzhou.

In charge of the "Venus" project, a Microsoft joint-development to launch Window CE-based STB-VCD/DVD, world's first non-PC platform for consumer internet market in China. Built up strong relationship with China government (Ministry of Electronics, Ministry of Information Industry, and China Standard Committee), and helped established China's first national standard for digital video format known as Super-VCD, which was also adopted by the DVD consortium.
