Government contract to develop financial Planning solutions (planning, forecasting and budgeting) - as well as Financial Reporting (BI and advanced analytics) for the Department of Energy – scope was later increased to include Financial Planning solutions for the Department of Defense and Homeland Security.

Contracted to head the migration of financial applications (forecasting, planning and budgeting), Business Intelligence solutions, and reporting systems (implementing semantic layers) while staying in sync with a company database platform upgrade.

Contracted initially as subcontractor to rearchitect businesses rules for Business Intelligence solutions (and associated data pipelines) feeding into BI data platform. Later accepted FTE role.

IT Associate serving as a senior technical lead on a global client reporting team responsible for corporate reporting generated from Business Objects, Crystal Reports and Hyperion Essbase. Initial responsibilities with the firm included application development in Cobol, Java, .net and database development in Sybase (TSQL), Oracle (PL/SQL) and MSSQL.

Project manager/lead analyst for the development of message queues on mainframe platforms to communicate with other company platforms in the daily transmission of sales and advertisement data. Assigned and managed a team of consultants working with stakeholders from the business unit – BU stakeholders included store/district mangers throughout the nation.

Contracted as a Senior Systems Analyst at Transamerica through CG Computer Services and later hired as a permanent employee. As a senior system analyst responsibilities included working directly with clients to gather requirements for the design and development of leasing credit approval applications. Responsibilities extended to the managing a group of consultants in preparing COBOL and CICS programs for Y2K. Recognition included selection as one of CG Computer Services employees of the year.

Led technology efforts in building an integrated funeral service system - with time & attendance module for automated scanning and recording of work hours (fully integrated with payroll systems); reporting for taxes and financial filings; network of offices to digital printshop and display monitors (providing updated funeral service information throughout all facilities). Developed and implemented first fully integrated funeral service system.

Served as the initial project manager responsible for the migration of all COBOL applications to a new hardware platform. Worked on the company’s initial data warehouse team as a data warehouse analyst as part of an initiative for housing data from various business units into one Data Warehouse to provide greater exposure of client credit portfolios across product lines. The position later evolved into a functional manager of the data warehouse team.

NIU’s, interdisciplinary Ph.D. program focuses on the learner, the instructor, the context for learning and the journey of learning, including learning theory, motivation, human development, cognition and the role of culture.
