I am an NYU Master's student studying mathematical sciences (graduating May 2026), and in May 2025 I graduated from NYU with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science. My 2 years of computational biology research in cancer driver gene discovery at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard have exposed me to the research process: developing data visualization tools, rethinking problems to optimize code, using Linux, Github, GCP, Python, and bug fixing in R and MATLAB. Throughout my coursework, I have built my data science abilities and project experience in Projects in Programming and Data Science and Introduction to Machine Learning, and auxiliary knowledge in courses such as Applied Statistics, Probability, Mathematical Modeling, and undergraduate and graduate-level Linear Algebra. I aim to combine my research and academic backgrounds, utilizing mathematics and computer science to solve interesting, impactful problems. • Worked on a model that used DNA mutation data to predict cancer genes, earning second author due to my contributions. Pre-print: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2025.03.09.642284v1 • Improved DNA data precision by 10x by rebuilding the core DNA classification algorithm • Cut program runtime by two orders of magnitude, reducing infrastructure costs and accelerating research • Built multiple visualization tools to present genomic data, providing interpretability and clarity • Used Python on Linux GCP virtual machines with pandas and matplotlib for data processing and display • Authorship in another paper published to Nature Genetics: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41588-025-02196-0
