John Zung

Lead a team to identify and measure strategic credit risk, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on real estate, equity, alternatives and fixed income asset classes, including investment and speculative grade bonds, private placement, and structured products. The team is also for establishing limits, measuring internal capital and ongoing monitoring of the investment portfolio.

Responsible for Credit Risk management for AIG insurance business lines: Casualty, Reinsurance, Trade Credit, Surety, Captive Fronting, and Political Risk. Responsibilities are highly diverse to establish and maintain a strong credit framework and culture: + Supervise and train credit officers and staff in insurance business units. + Act as liaison with Federal Reserve for insurance businesses to inform and guide Federal Reserve teams in their oversight of AIG (under a SIFI designation). + Member of the Sovereign Risk Group to assign internal risk and transfer ratings for assess sovereign entities and state-opened enterprises. + Develop and review risk methodologies for exposure measurement, aggregation and economic capital models. + Work with modeling teams to produce economic capital models for insurance products and validate methodologies. + Engaged in risk system development to produce risk reporting and analysis for internal and mobile platforms. + Approve large transactions and new products. + Produce credit and product policies and procedures.

Responsible for oversight of AIG's Credit Risk management activities enterprise-wide, including AIG businesses in insurance, investment portfolios (> $300 billion) and financial services (banking, mortgage insurance, equipment finance, leasing).

- Reviewed all risk assets (loans, derivatives) in corporate finance and BT's Private Bank in the US. I was responsible for reviewing automotive, aerospace & defense, airlines, commodities, and oil & gas. - From 1985 to 1988, my responsibilities changed to sovereign risk due to my academic background in economics and international finance. Assigned risk ratings for cross-border and local currency risks.

Graduated from Bank of Boston training program; Loan officer for NY region accounts in Asset Based Lending and Factoring providing financing solutions to clients in textiles, apparel, and furniture industries.
