* Served as founding member of the Board of Directors for this community/faith based organization formed to help ex-felons successfully return to the community. * Provided organizational leadership and helped to formulate policy. * As Director of Development, played a major role in building Riverplace from the ground up, writing many of the key organizational documents, including the business plan, and financial projections and budgets. * Worked with the Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness and other organizations in writing the proposal for a major government grant. Wrote narrative for the grant application that was a significant factor in Riverplace’s receiving a $50,000 grant. * Researched and presented grant and other funding opportunities to the Executive Director and the Board, and represented the organization in the community.

* Hold Ohio Limited License to Practice Law. * Defend criminal clients in Municipal Court under supervision of licensed attorney. * Interview IDC clients, investigate cases, and prepare motions and other filings.

* Worked on a variety of projects related to justice reform and inmate re-entry. * Helped prepare Akron OH mother of two who received felony convictions for using her father’s address to enroll her two daughters in an adjoining school district, for a clemency hearing. As a former interrogator, served as a member of a mock parole board and advised her on demeanor and how best to respond to questioning. * Member of a team of interns conducting a 50-state survey of sex offender registries. * Correlated national data, jail statistics and individual complaints to assess Hamilton County’s treatment of immigrants under the Secure Communities Program. * o Translated individual complaints from Spanish into English. * o Prepared a report to be used by community groups working for immigration reform.
