John Schmitt, CP, GISP

Since beginning with Keystone in 1987, John has worked tirelessly to understand and appreciate every aspect of geospatial data acquisition. Starting as an aerial operator and later taking advantage of Keystone's development process, John attained his pilot’s license and became proficient will all Keystone sensors and aircraft. In 2001, John’s progressive vision and attitude were rewarded as he became Vice President and part owner of Keystone. As lead sales and estimator on digital, film, and LiDAR projects, John excels at client relationships through superior customer service and detailed project management. In 2014, John became President and led Keystone to become a World Class Geospatial company. He leads operations and strategic direction with full responsibility for bottom-line factors, including long-range planning, nationwide product management, and fleet management. He provides cross-functional management by directing the Vice President, COO, CFO, 10 managers, and general oversight of over 100 employees. John has proven himself to be a results-oriented, decisive leader with proven success in new market identification and strategic positioning for multimillion-dollar contracts. He has a track record of increasing sales and growing the bottom line while leading operational improvements to drive productivity and reduce costs. John excels in dynamic, demanding environments while remaining pragmatic and focused.
