Test Engineer at Barry Controls Defense and Industrial. As a Test Engineer my responsibilities have included the overseeing day to day production testing, conducting tests to characterize and evaluate prototype isolation systems, collecting and analyzing field/operating data to aid in the design of new isolation systems. My current responsibilities/projects include: - Partnering with Hutchinson Aerospace in the development of Thermal and Acoustic Insulation Systems for the North American Aerospace Market. Projects and customers range from OEM Business Jet manufacturers to the refurbishment of older airframes. - Working with Hutchinson Anti-Vibration Division in the developement of active vibration control systems. Current work is focused primarily on marine markets, though opportunites have arisen in the heavy truck and aerospace markets as well.

I perform modal testing on structures to determine frequency response and mode shapes. I have assisted in the research and preparation of multiple published technical papers including a comparison of the frequency response measurements made by a Polytech 3-D laser vibrometer to those made with traditional accelerometers and a comparison various stingers used in modal testing.

Responsible for management of the Project/Design Engineering Department and supporting roles. Primarily responsible for development of products aimed at mitigating effects of shock and vibration on humans, electronics, and sensitive equipment in the Defense, Aerospace, Rail, Vehicle and Industrial markets. Oversee complete development cycle for introduction of new products including Project Management, Design, CAD/Drafting, Analysis, Materials, Prototyping, Test, Industrialization, Applications Engineering, Phase Gate Management, and Development of New Technologies.

As Test Lab Manager, I am responsible for management of the Engineering and Production Test Lab overseeing all aspects of testing at Hutchinson Aerospace and Industry Facility in Hopkinton, MA. Testing includes static L/D testing, dynamic characterization, fatigue testing, shock testing, acoustic testing and all field testing. As Advanced Technology Engineer, I act as Lead Engineer for nontraditional technologies such as Active Vibration Control, Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and Acoustic Isolation products.
