The Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology headed by P.I. Dr. David H. Farb is predominantly concerned with the characterization of the cellular responses to and molecular mechanisms underlying pregnenolone sulfate application to cultured rat hippocampal and cortical neurons. The goal of this research is to further develop an understanding of non-traditional therapeutic approaches to treating schizophrenia through investigation of neurohormones at physiologically relevant concentrations.
