The SSA successfully tendered and won the £50m Substation and Switchgear framework to be supplier and manufacturer to Network Rail through an employer facilitated contract. Working in unison with the Joint Venture partners to form the limited company and co-ordinated in negotiating and developing the Joint Venture agreement and articles of association. Giffen Group were a specialist mechanical and electrical contractor with over 125 years of history working in the rail sector on both Network Rail and Transport for London infrastructure. Working with the RCapital private equity team I led the turn round of the Group from acquisition to eventual sale to Renew Holdings PLC subsidiary, Amco. The parent company later rebranded to Amco-Giffen. The turn round process created value for all investors and ensured the continued growth and market presence of the Giffen brand name
