Worked with R&D and Sales & Marketing to ensure immediate and constant line of communication with supplier.  Supported Overseas Manufacturers in sourcing critical and/or long lead items.  Represented the Materials Group on new product development teams.  Instrumental in assisting Operations in inventory reduction and cost savings programs.

Responsible for purchasing and planning of electronics and RF components for wireless communication infrastructure products. Annual purchases controlled by this position were $8M. Directly reported to the Materials Manager, with daily interaction throughout all levels of management within the organization. Accomplishments include:  Negotiated alliances with several key suppliers. Established long-term agreements, based on monthly Rolling Horizon Schedules. Agreements resulted in continuous material flow and allowed for flexibility in the manufacturing forecast. Agreements also clearly outlined financial liability.  Responsible for developing alternate sources of supply for critical component requirements. Worked with Engineering to identify second sources for both cost reduction opportunities and availability issues.  Supported MRC’s participation in the California Microwave Purchasing Council. This group consists of Materials Managers from nine different CMI divisions, with combined annual expenditures in excess of $150M.  Preceptored purchasing personnel to develop abilities to purchase and expedite basic electrical component requirements.
