Omni Manufacturing Services, Inc. took its first breath in August of 1978 (originally as Omni Industrial Services). And by the grace of God our doors are still open, and we're going strong in 2024. We began as a machine shop machining parts for down-hole tools. Our client base consisted primarily of companies in the oil and gas industries. Business was booming and we were quite successful. In the 1983 downturn of the oil industry, Omni suffered a great loss. We learned a lesson from "putting all our eggs in one basket" and knew it was time to diversify. In 1990 we reached out in efforts to diversify, by identifying new products and new sales channels. We realized that secure packaging for sensitive and expensive equipment and products was needed by many companies. Over time, Omni has achieved a reputation for supplying quality shipping cases that excel in application, due to our extensive background in machining intricate parts for precision tools. Since the ubiquitous market in Houston is oil field related, a significant part of our business is supplying cases to this industry, with CNC machined foam inserts that transform standard cases into custom cases. Customers walk through our door with instruments that range in cost from $2,000 to $100,000, that must travel offshore and/or around the world. Our custom transport cases protect your instruments in transit to arrive intact and undamaged.
